Lipstick Jungle - canceled or not

If you are a fan of the Brooke Shields led Lipstick Jungle then you might have been a bit heart broken at the news last week that Lipstick Jungle, along with My Own Worst Enemy, were canceled by the powers that be at NBC.

In fact, there was a bit of outrage among fans of the show, which prompted the mass mailing of tubes of lipstick to Jeff Zucker, president & CEO of NBC Universal.

Well, if you are a fan then you will want to listen to the song that Brooke Shields is singing to the press. Shields claims that reports of the canceling of Lipstick Jungle are false; as are claims that the sets are being torn down.

In fact, Shields reports that the actors and crew are on set and working hard on new episodes of the show.

Lipstick Jungle co-star Kim Raver echoes the same thoughts as Shields and denies the story of the show being canceled. Raver also added that there are emergency meetings as to what's going on with the show and reports of it being canceled.

Shields remains optimistic for the future of the show despite the rumors of its cancellation. She cites high next-day DVR ratings as to what is keeping her mood up in regards to the show's future.

Lipstick Jungle is drama that follows three high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of lives lived at the top of their game.

Movie exec Wendy (Brooke Shields, "Suddenly Susan") does everything she can to balance career and family. Nico (Kim Raver, "24"), editor-in-chief of a hot fashion magazine, has her eye on becoming CEO. And free-spirited designer Victory (Lindsay Price, "Beverly Hills, 90210") longs to make her dreams come true -- and maybe find "Mr. Right" along the way.

Armed with humor and strength, these three modern New York women support one another through the triumphs and tears that are all part of making it big in the Big Apple. Also starring are Andrew McCarthy ("Joy Luck Club"), David Noroña ("Frasier") Paul Blackthorne ("Big Shots") and Robert Buckley ("Fashion House")

The series is executive produced by Oliver Goldstick ("Ugly Betty"), Timothy Busfield ("The West Wing") and Bushnell. Based on the book by Bushnell, "Lipstick Jungle" is from Universal Media Studios.

Lipstick Jungle currently airs on Friday nights at 10 Eastern/9 Central - unless it gets canceled.
